Street Racer 2 is a minimalistic and retro racing game that allows for users to compete against different AI driven cars. It is a casual game that requires little to no expertise in video games at all and doesn't change very much throughout. While the game is offered in 3-D animation, it remains very blocky and doesn't offer a lot of variety. Players can overlook the cars from above, but the game does not allow for different view points that many players have come to expect in a racing game. While it is not the most robust game, it takes up very little hard drive space making it a good option for those looking to try out a racing game.

Street Racer 2 offers two game modes, single race and championship. Despite the different modes, there is only one track for the game and even championship mode is played repeatedly on the same track. As stated before, players can overlook the cars, almost like watching Hot Wheels move along on a track. The game controls are relatively easy to learn and the game in turn is fairly easy to beat. Due to its lack of different modes or tracks, many players have found Street Racer 2 to be boring.

Street Racer 2 runs on Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, and Windows 7. It does not offer any versions for Mac operating systems nor mobile devices. It is totally free to download and free to play. Street Racer 2 is only offered in English, but even non-English speakers will catch on relatively quickly to the repetitive gameplay.

Overall, Street Racer 2 is nothing to write home about. Even when it originally came out, it lacked a lot of the more interactive aspects that many other racing games had. Now, it feels even more dated than when it was created.
